Although my work typically reflects scenes of New York City, I am especially drawn to your photograph "Surgery" which I came across while searching around the internet. I would very much like to work with this photo as I believe it would be very striking as an oil painting. As I am a professional artist with a high degree of recognition, I would not in any way attempt to use this photo unless I had total agreement from you to do so. I was therefore wondering if you would be any way at all willing to allow me to work from your photo in order that I may create a painting of this beautiful work that you have produced. I would assure you that it would not be used for any purpose of reproduction but as a one time only image. If you would allow me to use the "Surgery" photo, I would credit your name as the photographer on the face of the painting so that all who view the work would know that the image was not one of my own but that I was rather using your photo as a source of reference. I would totally understand and respect whatever you decide upon this request.
